Ian Mills was born in Norfolk and qualified with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) as a Chartered Surveyor in 1987. He has been practising as a surveyor for over 30 years. Based in Norfolk for the last 24 years, he established Ian Mills Associates in 2009. His work covers Norfolk and mid and north Suffolk.

Ian has extensive experience of surveying all ages and types of – residential property. He has a particular interest in older, historic, timber-framed and clay-lump properties.

​

A couple of years ago, he discovered a 15th century medieval ‘hall house’ as part of a survey, recognising the condition of roof timbers as an indicator, although it was a listed building, it was previously unknown as such an ancient property.
